With the beginning of 2023, EBU has relentlessly started to work on new opportunities to expand and strengthen its network, in line with its core mission of empowering the European knowledge-based bioeconomy. Among others, we are investing in a new cycle of cooperation among our partners and other teams to focus on research on a European level. In addition to this, after a very intense period caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, EBU is ready for a particularly important step.

We are excited to announce the European Bioeconomy Scientific ForumEBSF2023, the biannual event of the European Bioeconomy University Alliance (EBU), which will take place in person for the first time. This three-day event, which will be held from 6-8th September 2023 in the cultural city of Vienna, Austria, is dedicated to promoting the transformation towards a sustainable bioeconomy. The theme for this year’s event is “Moving towards the transformation,” and it promises to be an engaging and informative experience for all participants.

Hosted by the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna – BOKU as the current chair of EBU, this event will bring together scientists, experts, policymakers, industry representatives, youth, and other stakeholders from across Europe to exchange knowledge, discuss challenges, and identify opportunities for advancing towards a sustainable bioeconomy. This scientific forum will feature interactive sessions, expert panel discussions, and networking opportunities, providing a platform to exchange ideas and best practices, and build new partnerships that can help drive the transition towards a more sustainable future.

We encourage all interested stakeholders to join us for this unique opportunity of discussion, in an inclusive event meant to stimulate the bioeconomy discourse.
