Modelling the bioeconomy: New publication of EBU researchers

Together with a colleague from Belgium, four EBU scientists have reviewed emerging and new developments and approaches to model the transition to the bioeconomy. In their recently published article Modelling the bioeconomy: Emerging approaches to address policy needs, the scientists acknowledge the capabilities of existing bioeconomy models and propose the exploration of novel simulation approaches. As a conclusion, the authors call for a combination of established and emerging modelling approaches to account for the great complexity associated with the bioeconomy. Furthermore, they encourage closer cooperation between the various research communities involved in the simulation of bioeconomy transitions.
